The Worship & Arts team helps the Director of Music to organize the annual concert series, to plan special services in the liturgical year and to create long-term strategic plans for the music ministry.

Hentus van Rooyen is a doctoral candidate in organ performance at the University of North Texas. He holds a B.Mus. from the University of Pretoria and a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas. During his studies with Wim Viljoen, he completed the Teacher’s Licentiate and Performer’s Licentiate diplomas in organ at the University of South Africa. He won the Stephanus Zondagh Overseas Music Study Scholarship at the UNISA Overseas Music Scholarship Competition, in 2012, as well as the Scholarship for Overseas Study from the Southern-African Church Organists Association. This enabled him to begin graduate organ studies at the University of North Texas under the tutelage of Jesse Eschbach and baroque repertoire studies with Paul Leenhouts. In 2014 he won First Prize in the William C. (Bill) Hall Organ Competition in San Antonio, TX. Currently, Hentus serves Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas as the College Organist and Sacred Music Coordinator, and Assistant Professor of Sacred Music. He also directs the Chapel Choir, Hand Bell Choir and teaches courses in organ performance, music history and aural skills.
