Music

The music ministry features a vibrant instrumental and vocal program, providing all ages with opportunities to perform and grow in the context of worship. In all that we do, we seek to truly celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and our mutual journey as the beautiful, multicultural, multigenerational family of God. Each person who participates in this ministry is honored and appreciated, whether a novice, advanced amateur, or professional musician. New members to our choirs and instrumental ensembles are welcome. Requirements for participation are: a willingness to commit to regular rehearsals, a desire to serve God and others in a musical ministry, the understanding that musicianship is a lifelong journey, and finally, the ability to be a positive and supportive member in words and actions.

The style of worship at Annunciation is called Anglo-Catholic: Anglo meaning that it developed in England, and Catholic meaning that it embraces the heritage of the ancient Catholic mass tradition. Our services are filled with beloved hymns, chants, and psalms from The Hymnal 1982 and modern supplements to the hymnal like Wonder, Love, and Praise and Lift Every Voice and Sing, as well as songs from other traditions like Taizé. The magnificent Memorial Pipe Organ and choirs play prominent roles of leadership in our services and the rich acoustical environment provides a sense of awe and wonder.
